Most of us never learned how to have relationships based on honesty, joy, and a commitment to both party’s in the relationship, (any relationship) being and remaining Whole. If we’re willingly to live more consciously, however, it’s possible to lift our relationships to a whole new satisfying and intimate level. Here are just three of the quotes from an article that will help you achieve this.
”When you are co-dependent you have a secret investment in people being less than they are, so that you will be able to get away with being less than you are.”
“Unconscious loving thrives on victim-hood.”
“One of the Universe’s strategies is to put directly before you the things you are trying to avoid.”
These are quotes from the excellent “Conscious Loving:” an extract from a book by Gay and Kathlyn Hendricks which can be found on www.personaltransformation.com/PDF’s/Issue2pdf
Do read it. You have nothing to lose but your dysfunctional, unconscious, dissatisfying relationships!
” We are dragged along by fate to that which we refuse to walk toward upright.” Carl G. Jung.
I love this quote because I have found it to be so accurate: Spirit does indeed set up various situations and dramas which challenge and stretch us to become more than we believe ourselves to be. In other words, situations which force us, or require us, to expand beyond the limits of who we believe ourselves to be. Before we are “dragged” into these situations by fate, ( or Spirit, or our Soul) however, we usually receive an invitation, a call, if you like, to step willingly outside of our comfort zone, into the new arena/environment. This call heralds the fact that Spirit intends to provide us with the opportunity to bring about a further psychological transformation, or expansion of identity, within us.
In this Category, you are learning to look for, read and interpret, the guidance that is available to us all of the time, from Spirit; indeed, from the whole Spirit Realm as we are gently guided and drawn into Unity Consciousness.
You have already been introduced to the idea - more than once if you are a regular visitor to this site! - that everything that you believe is “out there” in the world, is actually a manifestation of your psyche: your own inner world, or inner landscape. Yet, you need to see and experience this truth for yourself: that your outer and inner worlds are inextricably linked. The overall aim of this Category, therefore, is to assist you to see in a new way, so that you become more spiritually awakened and aware.
Unfortunately, until we attain Unity Consciousness (Enlightenment) we suffer under the illusion that we are a separate being, separate and apart from everyone and everything else in existence. It all seems a bit of a tangle, but I assure you, you can and will awaken from the dream of separation if you want to. Think of it this way: at present you are probably, mostly, seeing everything through a pair of dark glasses that have obscured your vision, but, you are starting to remove them.
One of the secrets of alchemy is that what is “out there” in the physical world can’t be separated from what’s inside our head. To put it another way, the physical, material world, is a manifestation of our psyche: they are different manifestations of one and the same thing. So, if we want to be reunited with Creation, if we want to achieve what many call Unity Consciousness, then the physical world and our psyche must somehow unify and this unification can only occur within our own psyche.
Evidence of Oneness.
The process of unifying our inner and outer “worlds” begins when we start to perceive that there is actually a link between them. The evidence of this starts to come to us in the form of coincidences, synchronicities, signs, and various other messages or indications that we perceive and experience, that demonstrate to us that the Universe is responding to, and/or communicating with us, personally. This evidence increases and becomes ever more personal, the more we look for it.
Who Are You, Really?
If you can find out who you really are on a soul level, you’ll uncover the unique being you were always intended to be, before the world and its conditioning inflicted its wounds on you, and made you ashamed and afraid to reveal who you really are. You’ll also discover your unique place in the overall scheme of things, because in finding your true self, you’ll also find your unique gift, and the contribution that only you, with your unique combination of characteristics, experiences and abilities, can offer the world.
For this to happen, we need to go in search of ourselves. We need to remove the layers of the false self we have spent years constructing over and around our true, authentic self: our soul. So deep are these layers, and so thorough the conditioning and the wounding we have received, that sometimes just the smallest gathering of threads of our original, genuine identity, remain in expression.
When this is the case, it’s because our soul has been brutalised almost beyond recognition, so brutalised that it has withdrawn from showing itself, and fallen into deep unconsciousness, leaving an almost empty space where a strong, confident and unique identity should be. This space, which the false self attempts to fill with a ramshackle collection of hazy notions about who we are, leaves us not only uncertain about our identity and place in the world, but equally uncertain about the kind of treatment we deserve to receive from other people. In short, we have lost our sense of who we are; we have lost our soul. So the question we all need to ask ourselves, is, Do I know who I really am?
